High-purity quartz is indispensable to high-tech industries such as semiconductors and photovoltaics. Global high-purity quartz resources are unevenly distributed, and China is highly reliant on imports. The discovery of multiple high-purity quartz mines in Henan, Xinjiang, and other places, and the establishment of a new mineral species, is of great importance to promoting the localization of resources in the high-purity quartz industry and ensuring the security of China's high-tech industrial chains and supply chains.

The revised "Mineral Resources Law of the People's Republic of China" will officially come into effect on July 1, 2025. Recently, reporters learned from Sinopec Shengli Oilfield that a major breakthrough has been achieved in oil and gas exploration in the Shengli Jiyang Shale Oil National Demonstration Area. In the Xingxing Oilfield Fanye Ping 1 block in Gaoqing County, Zibo City, Shandong Province, the proven geological reserves of shale oil in the shale formation have reached more than 140 million tons, with technically recoverable reserves of 11.3599 million tons. This is the first shale oilfield with proven geological reserves exceeding 100 million tons to be reviewed and filed by the Ministry of Natural Resources.
