The Huo Shaoyun lead-zinc mine in Hotan, Xinjiang, is the largest lead-zinc mine in Asia with proven reserves exceeding 80 million tons. Located deep in the Kunlun Mountains at an average altitude of 5600 meters, it is the highest lead-zinc deposit in the world. The region has complex terrain, high altitude and cold climate, with low temperatures throughout the year and a large permafrost area, making development extremely difficult.

Starting May 1, 13 national mandatory energy consumption limit standards, including "Energy Consumption Limits for Unit Products in the Petrochemical Industry" (GB30251-2024), will be officially implemented. Recently, reporters learned from Sinopec Shengli Oilfield that a major breakthrough has been achieved in oil and gas exploration in the Shengli Jiyang Shale Oil National Demonstration Area. In the Xingxing Oilfield Fanye Ping 1 block in Gaoqing County, Zibo City, Shandong Province, the proven geological reserves of shale oil in the shale formation have reached more than 140 million tons, with technically recoverable reserves of 11.3599 million tons. This is the first shale oilfield with proven geological reserves exceeding 100 million tons to be reviewed and filed by the Ministry of Natural Resources.
