13 mandatory national standards for energy consumption limits
To be implemented from May 1
JUMPER TECHNOLOGY
Starting May 1, 13 mandatory national standards for energy consumption limits, including "Energy Consumption Limits for Unit Products in the Petrochemical Industry" (GB30251—2024), will be officially implemented. It is estimated that the effective implementation of these standards will result in energy savings of 24.52 million tons of standard coal annually.
These standards cover many important national economic industries, including chemicals, coal, mining, and papermaking. They specify energy consumption limit levels, technical requirements, statistical scope, and calculation methods for relevant products. They are applicable to the calculation of energy consumption limits for production enterprises and the energy control of new, modified, and expanded projects. They will effectively promote the elimination of backward production capacity and guide enterprises to improve energy efficiency through energy-saving renovations, process optimization, and energy efficiency benchmarking.
As of now, China has a total of 61 currently effective mandatory national standards for energy consumption limits, covering key industries such as steel, building materials, petrochemicals, non-ferrous metals, coal, electricity, heat, mining, and light industry. These standards basically achieve full coverage of high energy-consuming industries and provide strong support for promoting large-scale equipment upgrades and achieving energy conservation and carbon reduction goals.
Nation's first ten-million-ton Comprehensive utilization project for coal gangue Starts construction in Datong
JUMPER TECHNOLOGY
On April 28, the ten-million-ton comprehensive utilization project for coal gangue in Datong, Shanxi, invested, constructed, and operated by China Energy Construction Precast Building Industry Development Co., Ltd., officially commenced construction. Relevant officials stated that this project is of great significance to smoothing the resource recycling chain, promoting the constructional, large-scale, and high-value utilization of coal gangue industrial solid waste resources, and contributing to the construction of zero-waste cities.
Nation's first roller cutter rock excavation machine put into use
JUMPER TECHNOLOGY
On April 25, the nation's first roller cutter rock excavation machine, developed by CRCC Heavy Industry, was officially delivered and put into use at the Tongshankou Mine of Daye Nonferrous Metals in Hubei Province. This is a major breakthrough in China's mining equipment technology.
This equipment integrates multiple functions such as rock breaking, drilling and anchoring, loading, transportation, and dust removal. It combines the strong rock-breaking ability of TBM and the maneuverability of cantilever excavators. It uses 150 MPa hard rock non-full-section cold excavation technology, increasing excavation efficiency by 3 times compared to traditional blasting methods; it has built an intelligent collaborative system for the entire process of excavation, support, and transportation, reducing the number of personnel on the working face by 60%; and it has overcome the adaptability technology for complex geological conditions, and can be widely used in hard rock excavation scenarios such as coal mines, non-coal mines, and tunnels.
These innovations effectively solve the problems of high safety risks and dense personnel in traditional blasting mining, providing a new solution for safe and efficient mining and promoting the intelligent construction process and high-quality development of the entire mining industry.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Shmyhal said on April 27 that Ukraine and the United States have reached a consensus that the previous US aid to Ukraine will not be included in the US-Ukraine mining agreement. Previously, US President Trump had insisted that Ukraine return the funds.
Russian scientists find method to increase production of high-viscosity oil
JUMPER TECHNOLOGY
Russian scientists have recently developed a new type of metal catalyst that can significantly improve the efficiency of heavy oil extraction. Under normal conditions, this type of oil is difficult to extract due to its high viscosity. Experiments show that the new catalyst can reduce its viscosity by 62% and increase extraction by 69%. According to market experts, high-viscosity and ultra-high-viscosity crude oil currently accounts for more than 20% of Russia's oil resource structure, but only 3% of its production structure.
