A large fluorite deposit has been newly discovered in Suichang, Zhejiang Province

JUMPER TECHNOLOGY

Recently, Zhejiang Provincial Mining Resources Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Zhejiang Mining Group") has newly discovered a large deposit in Maoyang Mining Area, Suichang County, Lishui City, Zhejiang Province. The estimated amount of ore resources exceeds 5.5 million tons, and the amount of mineral resources exceeds 2.2 million tons.

The newly explored ore veins control an ore body 600 meters long, with a maximum single-layer thickness of 32 meters. Such a thick and large single ore body is relatively rare in fluorite deposits nationwide, showing huge potential for increased reserves. As a key raw material for the fluorochemical industry, fluorite is an important strategic mineral resource and a key mineral in Zhejiang Province. It is related to the development of strategic emerging fields such as new energy batteries, semiconductor etching, and 5G communication materials, and is known as the "industrial vitamin." A person in charge of the geological survey department of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Natural Resources said that this major discovery will effectively help Zhejiang build a large-scale energy resource base and further build a "strong province in resource security and allocation".

The world's first Linglong No. 1 small modular reactor main pump successfully hoisted into place

JUMPER TECHNOLOGY

According to CCTV News on April 16, the world's first "Linglong No. 1" small modular reactor main pump was successfully hoisted into place, marking the entry of "Linglong No. 1" into a critical period of system installation and laying a solid foundation for subsequent unit commissioning. "Linglong No. 1" is the world's first onshore commercial modular small reactor to pass the safety review of the International Atomic Energy Agency. After completion, it is expected to generate 1 billion kWh of electricity annually, enough to meet the electricity needs of more than 500,000 households.

The "Implementation Plan for the New Generation of Coal-fired Power Upgrade Special Action (2025-2027)" has been issued

The coal-fired power industry embarks on a new journey of "intelligence + low carbon"

JUMPER TECHNOLOGY

On April 14, the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration jointly issued the "Implementation Plan for the New Generation of Coal-fired Power Upgrade Special Action (2025-2027)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Plan"), which clearly proposes that in the next three years, the coal-fired power industry will take "deep peak regulation, fast regulation, strong support, wide load, high resilience, and low emissions" as the main line, focusing on clean decarbonization, safety and reliability, efficient regulation, and intelligent operation, to further deepen and expand the coal-fired power technology index system, guide the transformation and upgrading of existing units, the construction and operation of new units, and the pilot demonstration of new generation coal-fired power. The following main goals and tasks are specifically proposed:

1. Improvement of deep peak regulation capacity: It is required that the minimum power generation output of existing units reaches 25%-40% of the rated load, and the newly built units strive to reach 25% or lower, and the minimum power generation output of the new generation coal-fired power pilot demonstration units reaches below 20% of the rated load.

2. Clean and low-carbon technology requirements: New units should reserve conditions for low-carbon transformation, encourage existing units to implement low-carbon transformation, and the per-unit carbon emission level of pilot demonstration units should be reduced by 10%-20% compared with similar units in 2024.

3. Intelligent operation technology upgrade: Existing units will achieve automatic control of load regulation above the wet and dry state conversion point through transformation, and new generation coal-fired power pilot demonstration units should achieve automatic control of load regulation under full-load conditions.

China-Vietnam Joint Statement:

On the premise of complying with their respective laws, regulations and industrial policies

Explore cooperation on key minerals

JUMPER TECHNOLOGY

On April 15, the People's Republic of China and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam issued a joint statement on continuously deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership and accelerating the building of a strategically significant China-Vietnam community with a shared future. It proposes strengthening the economic strategic alignment between China and Vietnam, and the alignment of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Yangtze River Delta region, and the extension of the "two corridors and one circle" economic corridor to Chongqing and other regional development strategies of the two countries. Both sides encourage and support enterprises with strength, credibility, and advanced technology to invest in each other's countries, and will create a fair and convenient business environment for this purpose. Both sides welcome cooperation between enterprises in the research and application of 5G technology. Strengthen cooperation in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, clean energy, green development, and the digital economy. Give full play to the role of the working group on the study of the cross-border economic cooperation zone construction model, actively explore pilot projects of the cross-border economic cooperation zone model, and jointly build a safe and stable industrial chain and supply chain. Both sides agree to deepen the exchange of experience in state-owned enterprise reform and management, and conduct personnel training cooperation. Make good use of the China-Vietnam financial and monetary cooperation working group to strengthen information communication and experience sharing on policy regulation and reform in the financial and monetary fields, implement cross-border QR code interconnection and interoperability cooperation, explore expanding the scope of local currency settlement, and improve the ability to resist financial risks. Explore cooperation on key minerals on the premise of complying with their respective laws, regulations and industrial policies. Accelerate the implementation of cooperation projects in areas such as the second branch of the Traditional Chinese Medicine College, the maintenance and repair of the Vietnam-China Friendship Palace, and other livelihood areas.

Trump signs executive order:

Investigate the national security risks of US reliance on imported key minerals

JUMPER TECHNOLOGY

On April 15, US President Trump signed an executive order formally launching an investigation into the national security risks of the US reliance on imported processed key minerals and their derivative products. This investigation, based on Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962, aims to assess the potential threat to US national security posed by imported key minerals and lay the groundwork for possible trade measures such as tariffs.
