China boasts vast land and abundant resources, with many mineral reserves ranking first in the world. China has strengthened the management and protection of mineral resources, and based on the distribution of ten categories of national treasure minerals, it has designated areas with titles such as "Capital of Gold Mines," "Capital of Tungsten Mines," "Capital of Zinc Mines," and "Capital of Nickel Mines." Tungsten Capital: Dayu, Jiangxi

Dayu County is located in southern Jiangxi Province, on the upper reaches of the Zhang River, a source of the Ganjiang River. Dayu County is extremely rich in tungsten ore resources and is known as the "Tungsten Capital," being China's largest tungsten mining base.

 

Tin Capital: Gejiu, Yunnan

Gejiu is located in the southwest border of China. Due to its long history of tin mining, abundant reserves, advanced smelting technology, and high purity of refined tin, it enjoys the reputation of "Tin Capital."

 

Zinc Capital: Lanping, Yunnan

Lanping's mineral resources are unparalleled and have long been famous at home and abroad. Currently, more than ten types of minerals have been explored and discovered, including lead, zinc, copper, silver, salt, strontium, mercury, antimony, sulfur, iron, gypsum, mica, pyrophyllite, calcite, and rock crystal, with over 150 ore deposits.

 

Nickel Capital: Jinchang, Gansu

Jinchang has become China's largest nickel production base and a refining center for copper, cobalt, gold, silver, and platinum group metals, and is known as the "Nickel Capital of China."

 

Antimony Capital: Lengshuijiang, Hunan

From 1908 onwards, for several decades, China's antimony production often accounted for more than 50% of the world's total output. From 1912 to 1935 alone, the antimony output from Xikuangshan accounted for 36.6% of the world's output and 60.9% of China's total output. However, domestic antimony production is now far from enough to meet the requirements of smelters (in 2013, China's antimony production was 98,000 tons), therefore, China has imported a large amount of antimony ore.

 

Molybdenum Capital: Luanchuan County, Henan

China is rich in molybdenum ore resources, ranking second in the world. China's annual output of nearly 30,000 tons of molybdenum metal also ranks second in the world. There are 222 molybdenum ore deposits distributed in 28 provinces (regions and municipalities). The main molybdenum mines are Dahuishan in Jilin; Yangjiazhangzi and Lanjiagou in Liaoning; Jinduicheng in Shaanxi; and Luanchuan in Henan. Henan Province has the richest molybdenum resources, with molybdenum reserves accounting for 29.9% of the national total.

 

Coking Coal: Qitaihe, Heilongjiang

Qitaihe City is located in eastern Heilongjiang Province. More than 30 types of metal and non-metal mineral deposits have been discovered, among which coal is one of the three nationally protected coalfields. Proven reserves are 5.26 billion tons, with remaining reserves of 1.7 billion tons, making it a major national coking coal production base and the largest smokeless coal production base in Northeast China.

 

Phosphate Capital: Jinning County, Yunnan

Jinning County is known worldwide for its large reserves (proven reserves of 800 million tons), shallow burial depth, concentrated ore bodies, high quality, good processing properties, and easy mining of phosphate rock resources, and enjoys the title of "China's Phosphate Capital."

 

Talc: Anshan, Liaoning

51 types of mineral resources have been explored in Anshan. Iron ore, with proven reserves of 10 billion tons, accounts for one-fourth of the national total. Magnesite, with proven reserves of 2.3 billion tons, accounts for 80% of the national total and one-fourth of the world's reserves. Talc ore, with proven reserves of 60 million tons, accounts for 40% of the national total. Xiuyan jade, with proven reserves of approximately 2.06 million tons, accounts for 60% of the world's total and is identified as the first candidate for China's "national stone." In December 2006, Xiuyan County was named "China's Jade Capital" by the China Mining Association.

 

Rare Earth: Baotou, Inner Mongolia

The world's rare earth comes from the East, the East's rare earth comes from China, and China's rare earth comes from Baotou. Baotou's rare earth reserves account for 76% of the world's total, making China the absolute "rare earth powerhouse" in the world. Baotou is also the world's rare earth industry center.
